High School Senior Portrait Details

There’s obviously a lot you’re wondering about senior portraits with Davis Photography Studios. We try to cover some of the more common questions here and we’re more than happy to answer any other questions you may have via phone or email or over at our Facebook Fan Page.

So here’s the deal, you’re wondering how our system works at our studio. Yes, everyone has different deals and packages and offers and… well it’s just complicated. We even got tired of having to explain when we do what and what fees were required when so we’ve streamlined everything. Here’s how we create awesome portraits for you, the fees, the when and the where.

HOW DOES THIS ALL WORK?

First things first, you have to decide if you want to work with us, so feel free to look around our site (we apologize if it’s a bit bare at the moment), visit our Facebook Fan Page and even ask around. We currently have Spokesmodels at CLHS (Bridget and Becca) but we also have a long reputation for quality work.

Once you’ve decided you actually want to work with us, we’ll be overjoyed that you decided you picked us. You’ll need to reserve your session time via our online Reservation Service if you need to you can also call us and we’ll help you reserve a session. At the time you reserve your session a one time $350.00 payment is due. We credit your studio account for the full value of your payment so that you can use it later when you purchase your professionally created portraits. That means that when you reserve your session and make your payment you have no additional payments to make with our studio (unless you order additional products valued over your studio credit of course).

After your session is reserved we’ll email you with anything important you need to know or remember about your session as well as a confirmation that your time is reserved. You can also expect reminder emails (and usually a phone call) a few days before your session to confirm.

AT YOUR SESSION

When it’s session time, we want you to be as prepared as possible. To help you we’ve created a guide on How To Prepare For A Session to give you some tips on things you can do to help ensure you get the best portraits possible. If you find you have a question that the guide and FAQ doesn’t answer feel free to contact us!

The goal with any session is to get you relaxed and even having fun! We promise we don’t bite and we do our best to not make the session last too long if you appear to be feeling tortured. You can mostly expect to do some funny looking twists and probably feel like you look really odd, but trust us we don’t want to make you look like a circus clown anymore than you want to look like one!

You can generally expect your session to last approximately sixty minutes, most people get tired after that so we try not to go over it too much if possible.

GETTING THE GOODS!

We’re pretty much used to the excitement that comes from the end of a session. If Diane hasn’t already shown you half your images on the back of her camera, you can almost expect to see at least one image on Facebook as soon as Diane gets back to her computer. She’s often as excited as you are to see the images and get the best ones selected for you to see.

When the images have been pre-touched we’ll upload your images to our private and password protected gallery. It’s at the gallery where you’ll be able to see the 20-30 absolute best images from your session, you can feel free to share the link and password with friends and family members so they can view your images as well as order their own copies of your portraits if they wish (Grandma is often on the site before our seniors are).

GETTING MY PORTRAITS

Yes, not only does Grandma select any portrait she would like from the gallery but you do too! When we email you a link to your gallery it will include a password that allows you to get into the gallery and a coupon for you to use at checkout for the full value of your studio credit you made when you reserved your session!

After you place your order for portraits, they come back to our retouch artist (he wanted the title “retouch superhero of awesome” but he agreed to settle for artist). The images will have that little bit of retouching magic completed on them to remove blemishes, distractions and subtle enhancements that can only be done by someone with a decade of experience. The images leave our studio approximately 5 business days after your order is placed, so if you have any important things you need retouched let us know before then! In the end, as long as the truck carrying your images doesn’t explode into a ball of flames on the highway, your portrait order should arrive within 4-6 weeks after you place your order. Really they usually come much sooner, but our lab can get really busy so it’s important to reserve your session early and order as soon as you can for the fastest service possible.
